* 3/??/12 - Aerification - This year we are attempting to do as much of our
conventional aerification as early as conditions will allow us. We will try to
core aerifiy greens and tees, as well as topdress all areas. Whatever we can
not accomplish in March will be carried over into April.

* Mid March - Poa seedhead control - Depending on our GDD totals and our
phenological indicators seedhead control could begin in March. Through
chemical treatments we try to suppress the production of seedheads from
our poa plants. This does not remove the actual plant, but by suppressing its
production phases we can improve playability and help improve the density
of our more desirable grasses.

totals, we may begin treating for ABW's this month. This insect is now a very
common problem for our area and something we will have to deal with every
year from here on out. We have some very successful treatment methods and
have been able to keep this pest in check.
