XGD Installation On Greens
XGD is a subsurface drainage system implemented into an existing green to help remove surface water more rapidly and lower the water table in
the green. This is a unique option that gives us the ability to improve both the agronomic conditions as well as the playability without having to do a
total reconstruction of the green. The process involves creating a main run, usually along one of the edges of the green, with multiple laterals
throughout the rest of the green feeding into it. A 2" perforated drain pipe is used, and a special sand blend is put back over top the pipe. To keep
the integrity of the green intact, the original sod from the green is carefully put back.
